The Olazábal & Nadal Invitational is a Charity Pro/Am golf tournament hosted by José María Olazábal and Rafael Nadal. Founded by the two Spanish sports icons in 2013, the Pro/Am will be held again this year at Pula Golf Resort in Mallorca. The objective is to raise funds for underprivileged children via the two non-profit organizations Sport Mundi and Rafa Nadal Foundation, while at the same time offering participants an extraordinary weekend of golf and gastronomy.
José María Olazábal and Rafael Nadal will be joined by 16 golf professionals from the European Tour and the Ladies, Senior and Challenge Tours to host 54 amateur golfers over two rounds at Pula Golf. One Amateur Team of three plays with one Pro, with the best two net scores per hole counting towards an individual Team ranking and an overall Team Olazábal vs. Team Nadal competition.
His remarkable golf career includes 2 Masters victories (1994, 1999) as well as 30 tournament titles worldwide. He played in seven Ryder Cups, four times (1987, 1989, 1997 and 2006) on the winning side. Together with Severiano Ballesteros, he formed the most successful Ryder Cup partnership in the event’s history. He captained the European Team in 2012 and accomplished one of the greatest comeback victories ever in sports which today is known as the “Miracle of Medinah”. Jose Maria Olazábal is a member of the World Golf Hall of Fame and lives in his hometown San Sebastian, Spain.
He is widely regarded as one of the greatest professional tennis players of all time with to date 14 Grand Slam titles to his name, including a record nine French Open victories at Roland Garros, two Wimbledon and US Open titles each and one Australian Open victory. He is the youngest player ever to win the Career Grand Slam (aged 24) and one of only two who won the Golden Grand Slam (all four Grand Slam plus the Olympic Gold Medal). He resides in his home town Manacor on the Spanish island of Mallorca.

Pula Golf was founded in 1995 and completely redesigned by José María Olazábal between 2004 and 2006 in order to satisfy the demands of international and professional golf. It has been transformed into an exciting and challenging golf course with superb practice facilities. Pula Golf has become the scene of many high profile events, including hosting seven European Tour tournaments, and of course, the Olazábal & Nadal Invitational.
Sport Mundi with José María Olazábal as its president is a non-profit association founded in 2009 with the goal to raise money for charitable projects benefiting children in need. Funds are raised through numerous sports activities and social events.
The Rafa Nadal Foundation was set up in 2008 by Rafael Nadal and his mother, Ana María Parera, with the aim to help socially-disadvantaged children who run the risk of exclusion by society and offer them a better life. Through educational and sports programs the Foundation promotes personal and social integration and positive values: effort, overcoming, companionship, etc.
